Who is it suitable for?
Non-EU foreign nationals who:
They had been in Spain for at least six months.
They had previously applied for international protection (asilo) and had their application rejected.
Have employment or family ties in Spain that were established prior to the entry into force of Royal Decree 1155/2024 (20 May 2025).

Requirements
A residence and work permit is issued for one year.
Residence: Provide evidence of continuous residence in Spain for at least 6 months.
Asylum: Confirm that an application for international protection (asylum) has been submitted and rejected (up to 20 May 2025).
Ties: Provide evidence of employment, family or social ties in Spain.
Good character: No criminal convictions in Spain

Residence permit application form (Official Form EX-10).
Proof of six months’ residence (registration, medical records, etc.).
Decision to refuse international protection.
Documents confirming relationships (employment contracts, marriage certificates, etc.).

Application procedure

  • Check status:

    Please ensure that your application for international protection (asilo) was officially rejected before 20 May 2025.
  • Gathering evidence:

    Please gather all documents confirming your six-month residence and the existence of employment, family or social ties established prior to the key date on which the new Regulation came into force.
  • Submitting an application:

    The application (Official Form EX-10) must be submitted to the Foreigners’ Office (Oficina de Extranjería) in the area where you are registered (empadronamiento).
  • Processing time:

    The official processing time is three months from the date of registration.
  • Obtaining a TIE:

    If your application is approved, you will need to book an appointment with the police (Cita de Huellas) to have your fingerprints taken and collect your physical residence card (TIE).
